Basic Function
Responsible for being able to perform the test procedures used at the Edison laboratory required to maintain production at the site.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Able to understand and perform all test procedures and equipment needed to perform these tests.
2. Performs chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, intermediate, and finished products using various lab instrumentation.
3. Performs lab pack services, handles, classifies, segregates, labels and packages hazardous/non-hazardous materials according to DOT, EPA, and RCRA requirements.
4. Participates in QC Laboratory sample management programs including sample retain, sample collection, movement, and distribution, storage, disposal and inventory control.
5. Prepares and standardizes laboratory reagents, test solutions, and calibration standards.
6. Training and mentoring other lab techs to ensure regulatory compliance.
7. Compiles and interprets lab test results, communicates to stakeholders.
8. Performs polymerizations and physical testing of polymers.
9. Learns as many new test procedures and process activities as possible during the introduction of new products.
10. Serves as a member or stand-in for quality/ environmental/ safety committees.
11. Assists the Production Department in troubleshooting quality problems.
12. Operates in an efficient manner so that resources are not wasted.
13. Assists with the maintenance/troubleshooting of the instruments/equipment.
14. Performs required instrument calibrations.
15. Maintains good housekeeping practices in the Q.C. Laboratory.
16. Understanding and operational use of the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
17. Loads and unloads 55-gallon drums weighing up to 450 pounds with the use of a hand cart, lifts boxes weighing up to 40 pounds.
18. Performs other duties that may be assigned.
QUALITY-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understands and helps implement the site's Quality Policy and the Continuous Improvement Process.
2. Is fully aware of all position-specific quality assurance responsibilities.
3. Is familiar with site wide Document Control, Internal Quality, Corrective Action, Non-Conforming Product, and Record Keeping procedures.
4. Actively participates in Quality Improvement.
ENVIRONMENT-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understands and helps implement the Edison Site Environmental Policy and Objectives.
2. Is aware of potential environmental impacts within this position's area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs.
3. Understands and implements all parts of the Edison Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan that apply to this position's area of responsibility.
4. Participates in the site's on-going Pollution Prevention Process.
HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Understands and helps implement the site's Safety Policy.
2. Actively participates in site's health and safety programs.
3. Understands and complies with all health and safety rules
4. Routinely demonstrates safe work practices.
5. Attends all required health and safety related meetings and training sessions.
6. Corrects or reports all non-conforming conditions.
Min. Qualifications
High School Graduate / 5+years of laboratory experience in plant operations.
Associate Degree / 2
years of laboratory experience in plant operations.
B.S. Chemistry or related technical field / no experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
