The Systems Engineer II is responsible for work that encompasses both information technology (IT) applications and infrastructure systems across Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH). Will gather business requirements, conduct needs assessments, and develop functional specifications and build to ensure that developed IT applications solutions support business objectives. Also maintains the organization's IT infrastructure, which may include hardware, software, servers, storage solutions, networks, or physical facilities. Possesses solid knowledge of subject matter. May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to level I Applications Analysts and/or Infrastructure Engineers. Responsibilities A day in the life of a Systems Engineer II at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
Ability to effectively share knowledge with and mentor Applications Analyst I. Installs/upgrades new/existing applications and components, configures application settings, and validates work performed by Application Analyst I. Assists in the coordination of end user support activities. Attends, participates in, and contributes to meetings throughout the facility. Provides go-live support for users on new applications, modules, and functionality. Oversees and/or performs analysis of necessary application modifications and works with IT associates and/or the vendor to coordinate the modification. Analyzes business/clinical needs and requirements. Interprets end user requirements by fully discussing potential options and helping client move towards optimal solution. Evaluates the operational workflow that is applied to the system. Creates system specifications from user requirements. Creates test plans and tests new systems, version upgrades, and any system modifications. Documents all outcomes of testing. Reviews Application Analyst I's test plans and documented outcomes for consistency and thoroughness. Responsible for application implementation, troubleshooting, and support. Presents oral and written communications to project teams and other departments. Handles moderately complex issues and problems, and refers more complex issues and to higher level staff. Updates system, operational, and department documentation. Recommends areas for process improvements. Provides on-call support for applications. Infrastructure
Responsibilities:
Maintains the organization's IT infrastructure. Configures, installs, maintains, and provides support for critical software and hardware components. Monitors system availability and troubleshoots and resolves connectivity interruptions. Measures and improves performance and scalability. Helps develop disaster recovery or business continuity plans. Responsible for basic management of storage solutions. Produces documentation for systems and procedures. Maintains knowledge of industry best practices and new trends. Virus Management, Assist in the day-to-day tasks critical patching, vulnerability remediation, meeting desired state and configurations. Must be willing to accommodate weekend, shift or on-call schedules when necessary. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein. Adheres to the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's degree preferably in Information Technology/Math/Computer Science or related field. Two or more years of experience in an Information Technology department in a similar role. Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter. Knowledge of windows Server Operating Systems. Knowledge of Security concepts and technologies, including PCI & PHI understanding. Knowledge of Citrix, VMware, vSphere and Horizon View. Knowledge of enterprise-scale patch management & related maintenance methodologies. Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, DBS, DHCP & DFS. Knowledge of Enterprise storage. Knowledge of network principles, protocols & Technologies. Knowledge of VDI virtualization technologies. Knowledge of backups & Recovery Including DR. Works independently and effectively manages time with supervision. Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook. Ability to multitask and strong analytical skills. Effective oral and written communication. Creates and maintains clear, concise documentation. Collaborates with other team members across the department. Demonstrates self-direction and organizational skills. Problem solving and critical thinking skills in a fast paced and changing environment. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Healthcare experience or related field. Licenses and Certifications Required:
Epic and/or other relevant certification(s) or where applicable, other relevant applications experience. Citrix, VMware, EMC, Cisco or Microsoft products certifications, should be current and within 4 years. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
