Basic Function Directly responsible for the operation of the Production and Logistics Departments in organizing, planning, directing, and controlling department functions involving personnel, production, costs, environmental, engineering, and safety. Roles & Responsibilities Accountable for personal safety, the safety of fellow employees and contractors, and for promoting a safe work environment. Ensure that housekeeping and hazard communication standards are maintained Plans, directs and manages the operations of the Production & Logistics Departments to meet sales requirements by planning production, optimizing inventories, yields and production rates Monitors and controls direct operating costs of the Production & Logistics Departments, operating efficiencies, capital improvements, and preparation of operating budgets Responsible for product quality, investigations of quality problems and customer complaints Responsible for supervision of the Production & Logistics Departments' safety program, accident investigations, and safety projects Institutes and monitors all capital and non-capital projects done in the Production Department. Completes various projects as planned per CAPEX Plan Directs maintenance activities within the Production & Logistics Departments by long-range planning, weekly schedules, and equipment and parts purchasing Interacts with other departments and department managers in a team approach to communicate the needs of the Production & Logistics Departments and to insure the needs are satisfied Develops and provides leadership to Production & Logistics Department personnel by personal consultations, formal training, establishing and monitoring policies and performance appraisals. Results should be a unified group working toward meeting the common goals of the department Maintains a high level of discipline by formulating and standardizing procedures and performance standards for hourly employees Acts as a staff advisor to the Site Manager and advises on various administrative matters pertaining to the department Supervises and monitors all Production & Logistics Department operations personnel training Performs primary liaison responsibilities between site and business unit sales personnel Ensures that both Quality and Environmental improvement projects requiring capital and resources are advocated during annual Continuous Improvement Process & Budgeting process Ensures that the Quality and Environmental Policy & Objectives are implemented and understood by all department personnel Ensures that the ISO Production & Logistics Department Procedures Manual is implemented and updated as needed Ensures that aspect reviews are periodically updated to cover significant changes and the addition or deletion of facilities Ensures that operating personnel are familiar with sections of the Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Plan that impact their area Ensures that all operating personnel are familiar with and follow Responsible Care Initiatives Responsible for meeting of Responsible Care Codes within the Production & Logistics Departments Represents LyondellBasell with regard to maintenance labor contract issues, the grievance process and participates in contract negotiations Works in conjunction with the Site Manager in the areas of labor relations and personnel administration Performs other duties that may be assigned Min. Qualifications QUALITY-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Understands and helps implement the site's Quality Policy and the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) Is fully aware of all position-specific quality assurance responsibilities Is familiar with site wide Document Control, Internal Quality, Corrective Action, Non-Conforming Product, and Record Keeping procedures Ensures that all subordinate employees are aware of and are adequately trained in quality procedures ENVIRONMENT-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Understands and helps implement the Edison Site Environmental Policy and Objectives Is aware of potential environmental impacts within this position's area of responsibility and the consequences if an upset occurs Understands and implements any parts of the Edison Environmental Compliance Plan and Waste Management Plan that applies to this position's area of responsibility Participates in the Site's on-going Pollution Prevention Process HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Understands and helps implement the Site's Safety Policy Actively participates in site's health and safety programs Understands and complies with all health and safety rules Routinely demonstrates safe work practices Attends all required health and safety related meetings and training sessions Corrects or reports all non-conforming conditions Preferred Qualifications QUALIFICATION CRITERIA Education:
B.S. Engineering, Chemistry

Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Operations ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
